VIVA FIESTA
Saturday, August 2 from 3pm to 6pm. in front  of the Arizona State Museum
(across from the UA Centennial Hall)

The Arizona Historical Society (AHS) is partnering with Viva Arizona! to present the Viva fiesta which will include a participant showcase where participants from the conference will demonstrate their accomplishments. Other Hispanic community artists will also be showcased. The AHS will conduct a Storycorps program at the fiesta, modeled on National Public Radio’s oral history project of that name, where the attendees can reminisce about how music and dance has influenced them in their everyday lives. The ahs educational program of the Fiesta will present the evolution of Hispanic music and dance in its social, cultural and historic context. AHS’s will draw heavily on their archives and collections to provide photographs and documents to support the educational component of the fiesta & Viva Arizona! Concert.  Authentic Mexican and Spanish food and drink will also be available at the Fiesta.
